8ID Mobile Medical Laboratory Van

CAMP LUKBAN, Catbalogan City – The 8th Infantry (Stormtroopers) Division (8ID) has introduced its newest Mobile Medical Laboratory Van, a fully equipped mobile unit designed to provide essential diagnostic services directly in the field.

This effort enhances the Division's commitment to the health and welfare of its troops, dependents, and the communities within its Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The van features a digital X-ray machine, a portable ultrasound device, and laboratory equipment capable of performing Complete Blood Count (CBC), blood chemistry tests, and urinalysis. It also has its own generator set, ensuring continuous operation even in remote or challenging locations. This mobility allows 8ID's healthcare teams to offer timely, comprehensive medical support closer to where it’s needed, bridging access gaps and bolstering frontline care.

Deploying the Mobile Medical Laboratory Van is expected to greatly improve the conduct of Annual Physical Examinations (APE), Physical Medical Examinations (PME), and various other medical missions across the 8ID's operational area.

The 8ID emphasized that bringing diagnostic capabilities directly to units and communities reduces dependence on fixed medical facilities and ensures that troops, dependents, and beneficiaries receive vital health services without delay.

"It allows us to deliver timely, reliable diagnostic support wherever our personnel and their families are, reinforcing the readiness of our forces and the well-being of the communities within our area of responsibility.”

The 8ID added that this initiative aligns with its broader mission of safeguarding the welfare of its personnel while maintaining operational effectiveness through accessible, quality healthcare.
