From CNN:
"Kerry wins prophetic kids poll", Wednesday, October 20, 2004 Posted: 4:01 PM
EDT (2001 GMT)
Nickelodeon: Kids Pick the President
LOS
ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- The kids have spoken, and it's Sen. John Kerry
with a convincing victory over President Bush on Nov. 2.
              An unusual opinion
poll that has correctly predicted the winner of the last four presidential
elections has given Democratic challenger Kerry 57 percent against 43 percent
for Bush, according to results released Wednesday.
               The Nickelodeon
cable channel, better known for programs "SpongeBob Squarepants" and "Jimmy
Neutron," conducted "Kids Vote," an online survey of almost 400,000 children
Tuesday.
               The latest Reuters/Zogby
poll showed Bush and Kerry in a dead heat two weeks before the Nov. 2 election.
Other polls also showed them in a statistical tie or Bush holding a slim lead.
                Nickelodeon, a unit
of Viacom Inc., has organized its poll every election since 1988, and has a 100
percent record of picking the winner.
               "The 'Kids' Vote'
seems to work as a good barometer of the actual presidential vote because,
developmentally, kids between the ages of two and 11 share the same opinions and
outlooks as their parents," said Cyma Zarghami, president of Nickelodeon
Television.
                The survey
was the final step in a yearlong political awareness campaign on Nickelodeon."

Dear Lotlot,
               Thank you for
the news that the Southerners in America are prepared to die for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz.
              Somehow, they
remind me of the debacle of Vietnam.  Because some ignorant but powerful people
in America believed in the "Domino Theory", they went to Vietnam, had 89,000 of
their own people killed, dropped Napalm, and other poisons, and bombs on a
hapless people, after their own colonial masters, the French had gone.
                What did
America get from Vietnam Lotlot?
               Millions of
Vietnamese, Hmong tribesmen who are pining for their homeland, a scar on the
psyche of America, and millions of Vietnamese who are suffering because
ignoramuses wanted to prove that the "Domino Theory" was a valid foreign
economic and political strategy of America.
Anyway, Lotlot, I take pains to ensure that I am not accused of fabricating my sources.
I do this by placing in quotation marks the text that I am sharing with the
world.  If anyone should doubt the accuracy of my sources, they can always go to
the URL of my source.
                I just wish
that the money being used to kill some people are diverted to help Samar, such
as Villa or our Igot.
               After 9-11,
these powerful people in America and Britain spoke of "draining the swamp" that
breeds fanaticism, martyrdom, and hunger.  Blair at one time was following this
up.  But nothing has happened after that.  Instead it is kill, kill, kill from
both sides.  Soon, this kill, kill, kill will entensify in Samar and the
Philippines.
               Anyway, the
source of the short quotes below are found in the URL below.
               Thank you.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/10/15/world/main649513.shtml
World Polls: U.S. Reputation Falls
              However, many
of those polled separated their feelings about the U.S. government from their
views of the American people. Sixty-eight percent said they had a favorable
opinion of Americans.

             (AP)
America's reputation around the world is hurting, according to a series of
coordinated polls published Friday from 10 countries, including many of the
United States' closest allies.
              In eight of
the countries where the surveys commissioned by major newspapers were conducted,
more people said their view of America had worsened in the past two to three
years than improved. That question was asked in nine countries.
               By big
margins, those questioned said the war in Iraq did not aid the global fight
against terrorism.
              And in eight
out of 10 nations, those polled said — often in landslide proportions — that
they hoped to see Democrat John Kerry beat President Bush in next month's
election. Bush won backing from a majority of respondents only in Russia and
Israel..."

Man Cesar,
            Somehow,
other network polls show a huge dissimilarity from what you have posted here,
these polls would not deter me and my family to vote for Bush-Cheney, they will
carry the South Carolinas “8” electoral vote. I hope Mana Lydia is not in the
same side with you. Ha. Ha. Ha.

"We,
Samareños, coming from the poor and depressed province of Samar, would like to
seek justice for the plunder by Governor Milagrosa Tan of the financial coffers
of the provincial government"...
               I QUOTE THIS
FROM A LETTER MADE BY A GROUP and SUBMITTED TO THE OMBUDSMAN. Please take note
of the word POOR. For GOD's sake, please stop using the WORD in haste just to
fill some vested interests. Remember that the 'POOR from the depressed province
of Samar' were the same POOR people who elected the corrupt governor (tag-pira
an hatag?).
                If we are to
oust every corrupt government official from their post, no one will be left to
run the government.

Reading
the appeal by the "Isog han Samar Movement" to investigate charges of corruption
in the provincial government of Samar, indeed it's about time (better late than
never though) Samarenos must cry out loud with voices calling for changes. For
such a long time we've been under the tyranny of corruption!!! It's unbearable
to think that being one of the Philippines most diversified island in terms of
resources, Samar remains among the poorest provinces in the entire archipelago.
For our sake and the sake of the future generations of Samarenos, let's all wake
up & join the struggle to gain our freedom from poverty & corruption.

Reminds
me of the popularity of my former student in the UP, Melchor Nacario, a former
"fervent nationalist", imprisoned by Marcos, as candidate for Governor in Samar
against three people.  Ha Internet, namamarapara hiya han kaduko han botos, more
than 50% (in percentage gadla, not in actual numbers, hehehehe) denhi han survey
ni Ray.
               And then, pag
bul-iw ngan pagrakrak han taga Palompon hin P1.09 million, namamarapara man
liwat hi Melchor han botos kan Palomponian.   Hahahaha. Ka lisud man di-ay.
Kanugon la an akon usa ka tadyao nga Fundador nga regalo kan Ex-Future Governor

Bulig ako kan Pankay, o an apo ni Bebot.
Anyway, Melchor's hilarious Internet popularity happened in Samar. The figures above are

The
election in the US this November might determine the future of the world,
whether there is going to be "endless war", or if "World War III" will intensify
or whether there is another Crusade that could be the end of all Crusades
pitting Islam against Christianity.
               The debate
between President George Bush and John Kerry was watched by millions all over
the world.  Who was the better debater?  Who won?
The
following are numbers from three networks.  The sampling was unscientific.  But
the numbers are very revealing.
CNN: 71% for Kerry; 21% for Bush
MSNBC:  61% for Kerry; 39% for Bush
BBC:  45% for Kerry; 36% for Bush

Hi Ray,
I browse this site often and I enjoy it very much, thank you very much
indeed. Very informative, especially to me as I spent a little time in Catbalogan while I was touring Samar and Leyte, but that was more than twelve
months ago now. I would dearly love to return but that does seem to be difficult
at present. However, I have nice memories of my visit. A great time at Timothy's
Warehouse Piano Bar., (is it still there??) Early morning breakfast at Magueda
Bay Hotel overlooking the bay, and more than a few San Mig's. at Byes Place!!!
(and at GreatMags too!). And other eating establishments that I sampled such as,
SB Restaurant and of course, Fortune Hotel. You know where they all are of
course?
Enjoyed it all immensely and met a lovely lady while I was there.
Unfortunately, she is unable to be contacted unless by mail so our messages are
not as frequent as desired. It is unlikely that she will ever see this post but
should she be looking in a i'cafe somewhere, I'll say, Hi Luling, still thinking
of you. Lots of love and take care. ...Warmest regards, best wishes and God
Bless to all.

This is in
response to Lolly Cinco's posting.
To those who are mourning:
            LORD help us
to realize how brief our time on earth will be. Help us to know that we are here
for but a moment more.
            The prayer of
St. Francis: Oh Master, make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that
we are pardoned, in giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that we're
born to eternal life."
            Dear Sis
Lolly, Tom and Dito, on behalf of my family, from the bottom of our hearts, we
express our deepest sympathy and please extend our condolences and prayers to
the family of your brother, Marcelino Cinco.
            Heavenly
Father, our loving GOD from everlasting to everlasting, we thank you for the
gift of life, for the gift of faith, for the gift of one another and blessings
of families, relatives and friends. Dear our merciful GOD, we lift up to you,
Marcelino Cinco. Let his soul rest in peace. Give strength to all who are
mourning and let them be consoled by your WORD:
            "Blessed are
the sorrowful and they shall be comforted."
             In
confidence, trust and by faith we pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
Your
brother in Christ,
Mar Nitoy Hernandez (CFC-ILLINOIS)

Ruben,
Cesar,  other Villahanons and those who love Villa:
I am equally excited as the Villahanons, with the prospect of having a concrete
road from Kasang-an to the poblacion, la villa real, through the efforts of the
PEOPLE OF VILLAREAL THEMSELVES.  For many decades the Villahanons have developed
callused and "kiballed" pugtots travelling that short but arduous, rugged road
to Villa.  It had been  "completed" many times in the past by many political
leaders.
I attended
the 2004 Villahanon Fiesta last September 11 at the Amoranto Hall in Quezon
City. (I could not escape being picked by the mischievous bastoneros, Tito Go,
Mang Jun Dasmariñas and Nalding Seludo to dance the Kuratsa!!! ...Takay,
sinensillo la an ak dara, pero sigi la kay agwantahay man la bisan talagudti....)
The
announcement of the Villa road project was received with loud approval. Makaruruyag gud!!! The concept was proposed by the Villahanon
Association in Metro Manila to Mayor Boy L and I think after just one meeting,
they came up with a concrete agreement:
            1.  The
Association will solicit bags of cement from all Villahanons and those who love
Villa and the Villahanons, or cash equivalent of P140.00 per bag.  The donor can
have the bags of cement directly delivered to the office of the Mayor in
Villareal or send check payable to the Villahanon Association in Metro Manila
who will then purchase the cement for the donor. All donations will be properly
receipted/acknowledged by the Association.
             2.   The
local government's counterpart is to provide the corresponding Gravel and Sand.
             3.   The Barangays along the area will provide the Labor.
So far, the assocaition has solicited more than 3,000 bags  (in pledges), and the number
increases fast, every day!!!
This sharing
scheme by the three groups is fantastic. A stroke of genius. Real Filipino. Sinamar. Pintakasi. Bayanihan. Binurubligay! Leyteño Engr.
Artem Murillo, VP for operations of the famed Pajara Construction, and
Villahanon by choice (nee Alice Rapanan). volunteered his services for FREE!!!.
He will leave for the province next week to prepare the Cost Estimates and Work
Program.  Wowowowowowow!!!! (To Addi, I
don’t think the road could be named after the great martyr Fr. Romano.  It’s a
national road.  On the other hand, magkamamay-ada gutiay nga bag-id hin politika.
Gabay nala waray ngaran hin tawo.)
Kilala ko an
mga opisyales han VAMM.  They are sincerely honest, efficient, ngan katatapuran,
masilag. VAMM is strong organization. Pati iton bag-o nga mayor,  enthused nga
nababay-og by strong intensity 8.

If NOAH
was a Filipino
(Funny but Strikingly True!)

It is the year 2004 and Noah lives in the
PHILIPPINES.  The Lord speaks to Noah and says: "In one year I am going to
make it rain and cover the whole earth with water until all is destroyed.
But I want you to save the righteous people and two of every kind of living
thing on the earth. Therefore, I am commanding you to build an Ark."
In a flash of lightning, God delivered the specifications for an Ark.
Fearful and trembling, Noah took the plans and agreed to build the Ark.
"Remember," said the Lord, "You must complete the Ark and bring everything
    aboard in one year."

Exactly one year later, a fierce storm cloud
covered the earth and all the seas of the earth went into tumult. The Lord
saw Noah sitting in his front yard weeping. "Noah." He shouted, "Where is
the Ark?"  "Lord please forgive me!" cried Noah. "I did my best but there
were big problems. First, I had to get a Mayor's permit for
construction and your plans 'did not comply with the codes'. I had to hire
their 'engineering firm' and 'redraw' the plans. Then I got into a fight
with Municipal Fire Safety Inspector over whether or not the Ark needed a
    fire sprinkler system and extinguishers.

Then my neighbor objected, claiming I was
violating zoning ordinances by building the Ark in my front yard, so I had
to get a permit from the municipal planning office. I had problems getting
enough wood for the Ark, because there was a ban on cutting trees to protect
the Monkey-Eating Eagle. I finally convinced the DENR that I needed the wood
to save the eagles. However, the DENR won't let me catch any eagles. So, no
eagles. The carpenters formed a union and went out on strike.  I had to
negotiate a settlement with the KMU. Now I have 16 carpenters on the Ark,
    but still no eagles.

When I started rounding up the other animals, I
got sued by an animal rights group. They objected to me only taking two of
each kind aboard.    Just when I got the suit dismissed, the DENR again
notified me that I could not complete the Ark without filing an
environmental impact assessment on your proposed flood. They didn't take
very kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of
    the Creator of the universe.

Then the DPWH demanded a map of the proposed new
flood plan. I sent them a globe. Right now, I am trying to resolve a
complaint filed with the DOLE that I am practicing discrimination by not
taking godless, unbelieving people aboard! The BIR has seized all my assets,
claiming that I'm building the Ark in preparation to flee the country to
avoid paying taxes. I just got a notice from the BIR that I owe some kind of
user tax and failed to register the Ark as a 'recreational water craft'.

The NBI and ISAFP each wanted a piece of the
action alleging that the Ark would be used by the Magdalo soldiers to
escape.    The PNP on the other hand insists that Al Ghozi might use the Ark
to flee to Indonesia. Malacañang sees the opportunity to use the Ark for
GMA's Strong Republic Nautical Highway presidential campaign sorties.

Finally the Senate got the courts to issue a TRO
against further construction of the Ark, saying that since God is flooding
the earth, it is a religious event and therefore unconstitutional. I really
don't think I can finish the Ark for another 10 or 16 years!" Noah wailed.

The sky began to clear, the sun began to shine
and the seas began to calm. A rainbow arched across the sky. Noah looked up
hopefully. "You mean you are not going to destroy the earth, Lord?"   "No,"
said the Lord sadly...."The government is already doing that."
