This is mainly the reason why balikbayans hesitate to reside in this part of the world are bad roads and corrupt government.Imagine the taxes they have to collect,if only they give this balikbayans some kind of incentives, good roads to travel, good restaurants, good infrastructures to the farms, peacefull environment, the native birds, enjoy our natural beauty so that we can at least use bycicles, jeeps of anykind so that we can share the beauty of the mountains, the lakes and forests as we foreigners are fond of jogging and enjoying the mountains.I'm tired of living on crowded cities. My sister in-law from New York wanted to visit Samar, her grandchildren so excited to see our islands. They viewed my cd from my last vacation in Samar, but I told her the bad roads and sewer problems she might have to be more open minded to visit our island. Our LGU's the Mayor and councilors, gov. and congressmen do not realize that we balikbayans can do so much to help out through tourism, invitations to our friends and can help improve our islands through donation, but they have to start the honest move from proper reforms assisting balikbayans with an honest politics, without corruption.I have so many plans of donations to our towns, but fear of corrupt politics and their abusive taxes of balikbayans private homes are unbelievably expensive.I'm afraid if I die,my family won't be able to pay my house tax.I'll flatten my house first before any government take over.
