You know why farmers failed, it's because of dishonesty and coherent with such word as corrupt government officials. Way back in the '60, the government had provided loans from the banks such as PNB and DBP for all farmers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. They would be able to borrow for the purpose of farming. What the funds or the money loaned went, they were diverted into buying Refrigerator, Radio, Motorcycle, TV, Stereo and some were used to having parties. Almost all that funds which were released as loan were never paid by these dishonest farmers. I would say, they are also corrupt, lazy and with that kind of culture of happy-go-lucky people who want luxuries in life instead of sacrificing themselves by way of farming. I really don't blame a lot on our government but I blame a more to these farmers.
