An Kadaugan han Katawhan han Samar

Nagpadara na ako hin surat ngadto ha Diocese of Calbayog pero baga waray man balos.

Ako naman, baga ungod la an guin-pahayag hit iba dinhi nga baga atrasado an gios ni Mano Basilio. So hopefully, makarit man hi Mano Basilio, hingyap ko na la nga makahabol hiya.

Rita

I know and I fully understand your apprehension about my objective of coming up with plans to help the poorest of the poor in our impoverished province. I am also aware that you will need a fortune to mount a no non sense political campaign especially if you will be running for an elective position in the provincial category. Developing a political campaign that will reach the remote areas in the province is also a gigantic undertaking that will need funding to sustain the campaign from start to finish.

Sangcay nga Ceasar Apostol, Sangcay nga Samarnon from Canada og sugad man kanda Prof Cesar Torres, kan Samarnon from America or is it Leytenyo, UUSA LA AN ATON GUIN HIHINGYAP NGAN GUIN UUNGARA an magbag-o ini nga aton politika dinhi ha probinsiya han Samar, basi pa unta makab-ot naton an tunay nga pag-uswag han aton minayoyo pero nagkukuri nga probinsiya han Samar. Dumangop ako ha iyo ngatanan para magkaorosa kita hin pagpili hiton aton magigin standard bearer. Diri la asya ito lets start filling up our campaign kitty so that we can now put up a campaign Hqs in Catbalogan and Calbayog. We will burn the airwaves (free ads from radio stations) and ask for student volunteers. We will first train our student volunteers on how to approach and convince the older electorates to give up the instant cash derive from vote buying so that we will be able to protect the coffers of the government. If the funds of the government will not be touched naturally it will flow to the educational requirement of our poor students, we will be able to repair the long overdue pot holed roads, we will have something for the long neglected hospitals.

What we will do to insure that our programs of government are implemented effectively we have to be hands on in what we do meaning we have to be where the action is. We will have to roll our sleeves participate in the launching of each program and follow up, if it needs that we will have to conduct meetings in the morning and meetings in the afternoon to insure the needed change that we want. These are the CHANGEs that we need, these are the undertakings that we will have to sustain every single day. Let us now start filling up the campaign kitty and it’s about time to make this happen. Initially we will ask Ray to consolidate the donation and have a complete set of volunteers to take care of the funds of course with proper accounting from the group and from Ray himself, I'm sure Ray will help us facilitate the undertaking during its transition period.

B Jaboli might be in town during the holiday season, he can initiate the transition team and by early next year god willing everybody will be in Catbalogan to complete the task.

God Bless Us All

To Mr. Basilio Balasbas,

Maaram ako nga ada ha imo an ngatanan nga kalidad para mamunoan hini nga Catbalogan or Samar pero baga tama man liwat ada hi Mr Jaboli nga itago nala an imo retirement pay para han imo pamilya ngan aton nala hi Mr. Samarnon han Canada an asya pakandidatoha, sigurado pa iton magdadaog kay ada ka nga masuporta siring mo pa you have to educate the voters plus pa han DOLLAR ni Mr. Samarnon ha Canada ambot dawla kon ano an ig tatapat han mga kalaban.

To Mr. Samarnon of Canada,

Nagpipinahirayo kita pamiling hin magkakandidato para Gobernador or Congressman hin hi ikaw la lugod an diri nasasabihan nga qualified ka man liwat or over qualified para hiton nga puwesto. So Mr. Samarnon of Canada kay ano nga diri ikaw nala an aton kandidato pagka governador or congressman yana nga tidaraon nga election. Waray gud ako nakikita nga makakaulang han imo kandidatura kay una pagkasabot ko over qualified ka gud man ngan ikaw gudla yana an akon nakikita nga puwede tumapat han mga kalaban han gastos kay DOLLAR iton ira kalaban.

Pagsumat nagad han imo ngaran kay baga kamaraut pamation nga masiring ako nga MABUHAY HI MR. SAMARNON OF CANADA…

To Mr. Balasbas:

I am expecting that if Mr. Morales and Mr. Torres endorse somebody, he/she will be coming from an active organization like "An Isog Han Samar" or any other organization/movement/political party nga diri la puro hangin. I am expecting somebody nga kilala na ha Samar nga magigin maupay nga leader. By this, an active organization at this time will be the key to a successful campaign.

As you said, "Changing the political landscape of the entire province means that we will do away with monetary considerations by conducting a massive information drive to be undertaken by students of all levels specifically to educate the electorate to avoid/eradicate vote buying in order to effect the needed electoral reforms." Can you you do this in Guinsurungan? As you said, your brother in-law was a good Barangay Chairman of Guinsurungan but he lost to a rich-vote-buying candidate. I think everybody knows everybody in Guinsurungan and massive information campaign was not necessary, but your brother-in-law still lost. Why don't you try your ideas in Guinsurungan and if you become successful, the "longest toilet in the world", "the golden floating objects", "the drug addicts and drug lords" (according to previous posts) would be gone. And if, with your leadership, Guinsurungan become the best/most improved barangay in the whole of Catbalogan, everybody will endorse you for a higher position.

Do not expect so much of the studentry, most of them are active in the kabataang barangay. And the kabataang barangay? It's a joke! You probably know who controls the kabataang barangay.

As for candidates who came from poor families, not all become good leaders/politicians. I can give the names of mayors in this case but not in this site. On the other hand, not all leaders/politicians from rich families are bad. Jose Rizal and the other heroes who studied in Spain were all from rich families. Ninoy Aquino came from a rich family. The mayors of Cebu, Davao and Puerto Princesa and the former mayor Gordon of Subic are not from poor families but they are good politicians.

Ha akon kasabot, waray nag-eendorso ha imo kay waray man ha imo nakilala personally dinhe ha internet. Suggestion ko gad la ini, why don't you seek the endorsement of active movements/organizations in Samar. This way, pag na-endorse ka nira, I (and hopefully everybody) will support you all the way!

God Bless You!!!

Samarnon of Canada, I wish that your plan you have proposed will be carried out by everybody in this message board. This proposal you did will be considered as tentative only until Mr. Morales will give his comment as well as Mr. Balasbas. Also, I want Mr. Morales to get in touch with Fr. Labendia of his opinion or comment. Here's the proposal.

Mr. Morales - as Congressman
Fr. Labendia - as Governor
Mr. Balasbas - as Mayor

These 9 points of agenda or call them platform made by Mr. Balasbas are good that need to be considered and discussed if they need to be improved or revised. But there are still a lot of ideaz that can be added. Catbaloganons who are professional and experienced especially those who have worked abroad and coming back as balikbayans, have their own special talents and expertise that can give some points of agenda and help improved the platform that Mr. Balastas has started. They are also concerned of the situation in their province and they will help whoever will be the governor and mayor. The advantage is they are retirees and will not demand payment or salary for their service to the government. For as long as the governor or mayor is honest and not corrupt their services are free.

Well, whatever is the plan I will support it. I'm glad to read the plan of Mr. Balasbas, Mr. Morales and Samarnon of Canada. Let's start now if the above-mentioned three candidates proposed by Samarnon is approved. Thank you.

Under a fair election process, anyone in Samar can file for candidacy of any office for his or her own choosing. Anyone of the candidates who can rise up and survive long enough to the election day is deserving for being an instrument for the democratic process in our country. So therefore, it is not all wasted for being a candidate whether a candidate wins or loses because our democracy is advanced one step ahead. Under a fair election process anyone who is voted by the people is deserving for the office. What is a fair election process? A fair election process does not engage in vote buying. Instead of vote buying, why not buy private air time in television and radio broadcast advertisement? In the advertisement, explain and convince Samarnons why you should be voted over other candidates? THIS VOTE BUYING SCAM HAS TO STOP.

May-ada ako paki-ana: When did Mila Tan lead Samar? Kakan-o pa hi Mila Tan namuno ha Samar? Nagbisita ba hiya didto ha kahurunan? Bisan nala pangumusta han ira kahimtang. Bisan nala waray proyekto basta kalugaringon nga makit-an an leder nga namumuno ha ira, maupay gud an pag-abat han mga katawhan didto ha kahurunan. Natuman ba ini nga responsibilidad han gobernadora? Waray kay puros hangin la.

Because of the lack and absence of the governor's leadership in Samar, is it not surprising Samarnons would opt for the NPA who are readily asserting leadership. THIS IS ABOUT COMPETITION FOR LEADERSHIP.

So anyone who would win the candidacy, be it mayoral or governorship or congressional position, please lead our people. Thank you.

I want to see my waraynon brothers and sisters in Catbalogan have the opportunity to change the present government and have a new governor instead of the same corrupt administrator of the province of Samar. I have seen this feeling of change when I read all the views and opinion of the participants in this Message Board. I would like to mention particularly Mr. Morales, Mr. Balasbas, Samarnon of Canada and others. I have read a lot of their stories, views and opinion but still short of immediate action. I am still waiting for an action and not only written words.

I would suggest that everybody should help start working for the plan on the coming election. As I said before, there are only three here that endorsed Fr. Labendia to run for governor. What about the rest of the participants. Let's have a final decision who will be our choice to run so that we can ask people to support and be involved in the campaign including the campaign contribution. Someone has to take charge with the process of campaigning that will involve various committees if we want to have the best and a good campaign that our chosen candidate has the chance to win.

Let us choose a leader to lead us to initiate the campaign. He should be stationed in Catbalogan and not from abroad. A campaign manager or administrator has a lot to do and we should start as early as possible once we have the chosen candidate if Fr. Labendia or Mr. Balasbas. How about Mr. Morales if he wanted to be counted as a good prospect for governor.

On from the grapevine:

It is a bad news to all of us nga nag-uungara hin bag-o nga mga palakad. Really very sad to hear nga hira-hira la guihapon an madalakan yana nga eleksiyon. Nagri-recycle la an mga apilyedo. An Roņo, ambot dawla kon madalakan hiya to redeem han ira apilyedo.

Kakuri han laban kay kuwartahay man...baga maaram na kita han magawas han elekyison ngan han mahitatabo han aton lugar during their term.

Waray gud kita angay nga basulon kundi kita la guihapon nga mga bumubutos. Aanhon dawla ini naton nga mabalyu ini nga mga paagi. Kay an tawo nga kablas madali gudla nira nauuwat.

Kon ungod an sering ni sangkay Tonyboy nga deri leftist organization an Isog Han Samar...lumalabas nga hi Noel Labendia la an may-ada "name-recall" nga maupay ha mga tawo nga puwede magdaog ha eleksiyon.

Kan sangkay Basil Balasbas, natuod gad ako nga maupay an iya tinguha para ha Samar. Maupay man liwat an iya mga plano. An problema kay kinahanglan makilala anay hiya.

Ano dawla kon an ihatag naton ini nga line-up:

Congressman - Antonio (Tonyboy) Morales
City Mayor - Mr. Basil Balasbas

Puwede liwat umapi hira Sangkay Bert Batica ug Prof. Cesar Torres (magkurukayakan nala kamo kon ano an iyo mga puwesto)

I believe this line up can solicit donors from abroad to fund their campaign.

I am really amused of your logic that if I will run for an elected position in the higher echelon of the provincial government I am already late while you are convincing the contributors of this forum to come up with a common candidate and the same is not late? C'mon my friend lets be realistic in here, if it’s late for me it would be late for anyone else. And also, maybe you are not aware that our purpose of coming up with a common candidate in this forum is to change the political landscape of the province in a manner that it will be a complete transformation from traditional politician to virtually neophyte but armed with a mission and vision of uplifting the poor and under privilege. Changing the political landscape of the entire province means that we will do away with monetary considerations by conducting a massive information drive to be undertaken by students of all levels specifically to educate the electorate to avoid/eradicate vote buying in order to effect the needed electoral reforms. This way we will be able to attain our objective of safeguarding the coffers of the government specifically the funds of the provincial government. Needed reforms with respect to the following will be achieved:

1. The creation of jobs through Eco tourism. Restoration of Maqueda bay and adjacent channel by installing effective coral reefs all throughout the Samar Seas subsequently stopping trolls along the shallow waters and dynamite fishing. To make this effective every barangay will be provided with a pump boat and a PNP contingent with a barangay police to patrol the strait. First offenders will be docketed but illegal fishing materials will be confiscated. 2nd offenders will be charged in court. Immediate stop of all illegal logging at all cost.

2. The construction of new buildings, classrooms, provision of desks and chairs and books for students and scholarships to poor families.

3. The balancing of the budget.

4. Construction and maintenance of farm to market roads including the repair of the existing roads from Tacloban to Catbalogan and from Calbayog to Catbalogan.

5. The provision of electricity and water supply to barangays.

6. Eradicating of ghost employees and the 15 and 30 employees who only reports to their repective departments every 15th and 30th of the month to get their salaries.

7. The development of stagnant government lands/properties into agricultural lands for our farmers and other entrepreneurial undertaking thereby generating more income to the province.

8. The automation of the entire capitol building to check automatically the erarnings of all generating departments that can be accessed by everyone including the result of all biddings to make it transparent.

9. Coordination with the local AFP (Army) and the PNP contingent with respect to the peace and order situation in the province on a weekly basis. Creation of a task force that will include the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the PNP, the Army Intel and a provincial coordinator to conduct operations against drug related cases in the province.

Sangcay nga B Jaboli guin utro ko la an akon 9 point agenda kay asya gud iton it aton kinahanglan buhaton para magin malinampuson kita bisan ano iton aton buhaton para hit kaupayan hit ngatanan nga molopyo han probinsiya han Samar. Maaram kita nga nagkukuri gud ini nga aton mga kabugtuan dinhi ha aton probinsiya kay maiha naman nga guin aabuso hira hine nga mga waray upay nga politiko. Amo ini nga akon guin sesering nga basi matagamtaman naton ngatanan an kaupayan hin pagukoy ha aton probinsiya nga magupay it kalsada, maupay it hospital, maupay an mga nakapot hin katungdanan ha gobyerno, waray 15-30 nga empleyado labi na gud an pakaupay han mga eskuelahan para adton mga pobre nga aton kabugtuan magkaada hin sadang nga prebilihiyo hin pagaradman nga makakapagpataas hiton ira antas hin panginabuhi pareho ha aton, and by the way we have to select somebody who virtually came from a poor family and made his mark by elevating his family's stature in the community then and only then we will be assured of a real administrator whose heart will be for the poorest of the poor.

Mabuhay kita ngatanan and god bless us all.

From the grapevine...

I heard from the grapevine that Mila Tan is now considering gunning for the mayorship of Catbalogan. In her lull to enjoy her involuntary vacation, without pay, she is feeling the pulse of the barangay leaders. She and Tekwa, though related by affinity due to the marriage of their kids, are not really in the best of terms. The problem may be due to some sharing on gambling payoffs. Tekwa is now hounded by his own baggage. Police elements, who are keeping the story under the radar screen, are saying that the local gambling lord is Tekwa's own brother or half-brother. The PNP is a little bit hesitant to thumb down the activity of Tekwa's brother because Tekwa has been supportive of the local PNP's projects. A reliable insider thinks that Tekwa's brother is earning at least P750,000 on a bad day and about P1.5 million in a good day. Mila, my source said, is not happy with that. Does she wants a cut on the stash Tekwa and his brother are earning? Only they know.

Vice Mayor Van Torrevillas has nowhere to go. He can't compete with Tekwa and Mila in Catbalogan so he might run for a higher office. Congressman? He is a little bit incompetent on that front though says my asset. In fact, he will have a difficulty mounting a campaign against Sharee Ann or Cata. And speaking of Cata, he has been on the move to mobilize his old machinery. Comeback kid is Cata's favorite game.

Jess may just get the plum post of the province since Sharee Ann is interested in keeping her current post and her shopping spree in Manila. Ining is not interested to be provincial governor either. He wants his old post at the city hall of Calbayog. Mel will run for congressman and is afraid of running for governor because of his notorious objection to Catbalogan's cityhood. He wants to be the first district congressman if he will continue to have the blessings of his boss Ining. Ining, though, may end up fielding his own wife or brother to run instead of Mel. Interestingly, Ining pulls the strings in the first district. What will happen to Onald Aquino, vice mayor of Calbayog? Well, he has to submit to the decision of Ining whether to run for board member or better still for vice governor. Don't discount Rudy Tuazon though. He may have a viable comeback bid for congressman since it is now Mel who will be his opponent. A friend of mine said that Rudy is now a little bit "duazon" due to the monetary hemorrhage he suffered after losing three recent elections.

The biggest hurob-hurob in Calbayog is the possible entry of a Roņo scion and established film director Chito Roņo for the gubernatorial race. Ining wants to support Chito just to topple down the Tan-Redaja conglomerate in the capitol. With Tan out of the picture, Redaja to the Calbayog Mafia is easy target.

Redaja will have a tough battle with Chito. Well, Redaja does not have enough money like Mila to bankroll a moneyed campaign. Three months as Acting Governor is not enough to stack his campaign kitty. The sad note for Redaja is he might end up like his predecessor Erning Arcales. Mano Erning after serving as Vice Governor wanted to reclaim his post as Mayor of Catbalogan to his dismay as he was decidedly trounced by Tekwa. Mano Erning, in 2007 ran for councilor under Tekwa's party and won. A sad fate of a former Catbalogan Mayor who became Vice Governor and now city councilor. Why would people do that? Only love of power can explain.

The political stars in Samar all ended up when their greed caught them. Bolastig lost the congressional race against Cata because he was alledgedly paid by Pepeng Roņo to slide down so Pepeng can reclaim the gubernatorial post of Samar. Bolastig's only legacy is Mom's Grocery Store in Catbalogan and the building it occupies. Cata fell from power because he wanted to establish a conjugal dictatorship in Samar with his wife Nelipta as governor. In the process, he ran against Mila, the one who resurrected him from political grave to trounce Eddie Nachura. Nachura's credentials are praised in Manila. In fact, his current post as Supreme Court Associate Justice is an affirmation of his connection to the Imperial Manila. His downfall came when he spent less and less time visiting Samar and forgetting about the road conditions in Samar and his failure to grease the local political operators. Eddie does not have a mansion in Catbalogan. He still goes home to the house of his mother in Ubanon when he is in Catbalogan. As to whether he built some Taj Mahal somewhere else, well ask him. Rudy Tuazon defeated Roņo for congressman in the first district. Rudy valiantly humbled the old politico. He and Ining were the thorns on Roņo's grip of the first district. His downfall came when he supported his wife to run for congressman instead of supporting his bata-bata Ining. The two are now nemesis that only the bloods of those who were murdered can attest. Mila's downfall and Sharee Ann's end are about to happen. Well, Mila's pacman-styled leadership at the capitol is haunting her. Sharee Ann is nothing. Really. Without her mother, Sharee Ann would just have been manning their Shiok-tong business in Burak. Well, Tekwa is becoming greedy, will his brother's numbers game bring him down? Only time will tell.

That's why, my hope is for somebody who is not in the molds of these politicians to run for public office who can breath fresh new air in the political scene. I was watching the 20-day report video of Acting Gov. Redaja and I said that we probably deserve better people to serve our province. With no offense to Emy Bonifacio and Decobeam, Redaja's report was nothing but a calendar report that a secretary or a clerk can do. Redaja could have talked about the big moves he would undertake in 90 days but as his usual style, he enumerated even a regular meeting of department heads. As vice governor, he should have known the concerns of the department heads and the sorry state of the provincial hospital and the other district hospitals long time ago. Imagine that the provincial hospital in Samar is not authorized to do surgical operations because they have been downgraded as hospitals by the DOH. How will the poor people from Samar be serviced by sub-standard hospitals? The district hospitals in Calbayog, Gandara, Almagro, Tarangnan, and Basey are merely clinics in the classification made by the DOH. Baga hain na an aton pride hito as people of Samar? I grew up in Samar going to the Samar Provincial Hospital being proud of how well they serve their patients. The devolution, they say, has diminished the quality of the hospital. I say, it is not devolution but corruption that diminished the quality of the hospital. I am fuming with anger when I learned about all these. I hope that these politicians be sick and they end up at these hospitals they have abandoned.

On absolutes....

Sangkay Tonyboy, I guess I made myself clear in my posting regarding this particular topic. I have defined well my premise and for that I need not to add nor enter in another argument with anybody.

However, I just want you to consider the following from your scholarly exposition:

To quote:

In the second paragraph...

"I believe that the Bible is a divinely inspired revelation of God's encompassing love to humanity." (by the way, love is only a part of the whole Bible...but if you will refer to the four Gospels, then you are more accurate).

Then in fourth paragraph...

"Thirdly, to say that anything that contradicts the teachings of the Bible is not of God is so vague. The Bible in itself has many contradictions within itself."

Comment: If you have claimed and accepted that the Bible is DIVINELY INSPIRED, then how could you say that it has so many "contradictions"? How can an all-knowing God contradicts in His own revelations?

Again...

In third paragraph...

"Secondly, I agree with you that the God of the Bible is the true and living God."

But then...

"We only have one God and our true God is also the true God of the jews and the muslims."

Comment: Do you think so? As for the Jews, I will give you the benefit of the doubt because you have referred it to a race or nationality...but not all the Jews.

You have just agreed with me that the God of the Bible is the true and living God. But how could you say that He is also the true god of the Muslims and others?

You see, the Bible has no contradictions in itself. It is our human and worldly knowledge that creates contradictions. When we try to expound God's simple truths to make them "politically sound" and "socially acceptable" to be embraced by the majority that we begin to deviate from the truth. Incidentally, the true believers since time in memorial belong to the minority.

In conclusion, I would say that it is important to read the texts within the context.

Let's move on...have a great day to you! Would love to meet you personally someday.

ON THE OTHER SIDE...

Mr. B. Jaboli has a good idea/suggestion.

On Absolutes...

To sangkay Samarnon from Canada:

I am glad that you want me to expound on the dangers of having absolutes. I am of the conviction that "truth" has at least three sides: my truth, your truth, and the truth. I am too philosophical about all these but at least I am one who is willing to say that I do not hold absolutes as my life's guiding principles. I am a christian who has no creed but Christ, no law but love. In having Christ as my only creed, I have to be guided by the question "WWJD." What would Jesus do? You have listed your three absolutes that you are willing to be boxed and I definitely could poke holes on all three but you know those are your truths that you hold dear so I respect them as your truth. Let me point out though that you could keep those are your truths but do not impose it on others.

First, I believe that the Bible is a divinely inspired revelation of God's encompassing love to humanity. The Bible has, especially in the Old Testament, some gory details that must not be taken literally but in a contextual manner taking into account many important aspects of biblical interpretation like history, traditions, and ancient practices. I have actually taken a total of 3 courses in Christianity and Religion from a catholic school and a protestant institution and I have learned a lot from those courses. Some books or passages in the Bible are historical accounts, some are literary pieces, some are laws, some are epistles or letters, some are songs, some are census, some are sayings, some are prophecies, and even some are anecdotes or parables or stories to amplify a point, and more. To me, the danger happens when some people try to literally interpret the Bible as a mere narrative of facts and interpret it in a piece-meal manner instead of a holistic and integrative approach. An example is when you take Leviticus Chapter 26 verse 29 literally which says "You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters." Or take Leviticus Chapter 19 verse 26a which says "You shall not eat anything with blood." Now, Mr. Samarnon, do you love to eat dinuguan? Just kidding. You see all these verses shall be read in the proper context otherwise we may end up lost in our quest for the truth.

Secondly, I agree with you that the God of the Bible is the true and living God. But you must also remember that the God of the Bible is also the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David. Well, those fathers of our faith are jews. Most of their descendants practice Judaism. Also, our muslim brothers and sisters trace their faith to Abraham. Why? Please read Genesis Chapters 16 and 21 about Hagar and Ishmael. Ishmael is the first-born son of Abraham who became the father of our muslim brothers and sisters. As christians, we trace our lineage to Abraham through Christ, another jew. So, the "people of the book" as the muslims would usually refer to those who practice the world's three major religions share a common ancestor, Abraham. We only have one God and our true God is also the true God of the jews and the muslims. When you try to own God instead of God owning you then that is dangerous. I like to think that I can share my God with my fellowmen whether they are muslims, jews, gentiles, or what have you. I simply can't contain my God in my church, in my denomination, in my house of prayer, in my synagogue, or in my temple. My God is much larger than my church and my beliefs. My God is greater than my knowledge about Him. My God is mightier than what I thought of Him. He is even bigger than my problems.

Thirdly, to say that anything that contradicts the teachings of the Bible is not of God is so vague. The Bible in itself has many contradictions within itself. The old testament said that Sabbath must be observed strictly, Jesus healed somebody on Sabbath so the pharisees said that Christ violated the law of the Sabbath. But, Jesus answered back that the law was made for man and not the man made for the law. When the law becomes a hindrance to show your love for humanity then that law is no longer godly. I could give you a litany of contradictions between the old and the new testaments but the space would not be sufficient. Suffice it to say that the Bible, with all its contradictions, is and always be my source of inspiration from the valiant stories in the old testament to the bold conquests of the apostles in the new testament and even to the scary prophecies of Isaiah and the Revelations. To me, God and God's truth cannot be simply contained in a box. I believe that the beauty of my faith lies not on what is written in texts but the mystery of an all-knowing and omnipresent God who is larger than life and whose love for me and my fellow sinners are more abundant than my intellectual and spiritual capacity to comprehend. The more things that I cannot explain on my own now becomes more of my constant quest to know that God's purpose and wisdom are so enormous that they can't simply be contained in both the old and the new testaments of the Bible. My faith is a work in progress and I still could see wonders in liturgy, in music, in traditions, in acts of kindness, in serendipity, in nature, and in anything and everything that God's divine love is poured and shared graciously.

I do not want to pass judgment on your faith my friend from Canada but I hope that I have also shared my side of truth. As to the real truth? Well, God is in-charge of that and I do not want to take that away from Him lest I be like Adam and Eve who wanted to be all-knowing like God.

Amen.

And as to the debate on how to interpret what I said about Isog Han Samar Movement, again it is a matter of construction or interpretation. The spirit of my statement must not be defeated by the letters that they are written. We should give credence to the spirit that giveth life and not the letters that killeth. Isog Han Samar Movement is not a communist movement.

Another Amen.

Para Kan "Samarnon Liwat":

Tama an imo siring nga an mga may plano pagkandidato ha sunod nga election kinahanglan nga magin "realistic". Dinhe la ngani ha internet, waray hinanabo ang kandidatura kay dire pa an Samar sugad ha America nga guin gamit gud ni Obama an internet dida han iya campaign. Ha Samar waray pa ngani ada 1% hit population it may access ha internet. An voters ha America an nahatag hin financial support ha kandidato, ha Samar it kandidato it manhahatag. Puede gad magbag-o kun may kandidato nga sugad kan Padre Labendia, kay pareho unta hiya kan Padre Panlilio.

Kaupay gad hit imo mga plano (Provincial level). Kay yana pala ngani unta may makinarya na it imo partido ngan may-ada na unta headquarters ha Catbalogan/Calbayog para it sugad ha amon nga masuporta ha imo puede na makipagkirigta dayon.

Mr. Balasbas, please understand that I don't intend to undermine your plans for the betterment of Samar. I want to support you but we also need to be realistic. The past four local elections, I was always in Jiabong and I have learned that candidates for Governor and/or congressman spend more or less P1M for every municipality. This is what they call "mobilization fund". Perhaps most readers here who are in Samar know this. I am not suggesting that you also need such a big amount to ensure success. However, you have to consider a sufficient amount for your leaders to move to be able to execute a good campaign.

From my personal side, I will help financially and physically for whoever is the candidate that will be endorsed by this website, especially by Mr. Morales and Prof. Torres. When I get back home, I will try to visit Mr. Gaspay to be able to help this website. I wish somebody suggest a good meeting place in Catbalogan for us to finally meet and discuss REALISTICALLY.
