Congratulations and thank you Ray Gaspay...for the VIDEO GALLERY. I only noticed it tonight while I was browsing the site… I enjoyed the video "MAGUEDA BAY: LOSING PARADISE". The video BAHA HA CATBLAOGAN was too slow in its pace… but it was still a good effort by the JOURNALISM students who made it... I hope they were given good grades by their teacher. LOL!

A good subject for the students will be a video documentary on the diff. problems affecting Samar… like illegal loggings, the controversy about the return of mining to Samar, alleged human rights violations etc.

Bat kailangan pa idaan ang pundo sa mga congressman kung tutuusin nandyan naman ang department of health na siya ang magaasikakaso nyan [read news]. Ang mangayayari yan ay palakasan system kahit may sakit ka...kailangan mo pa ng recomendasyon o lumapit sa mga congressman (aba nagpapakaimportante kahit may sakit na ang kanilang constituents)…ginawagawa tayong tanga ng mga congressman na yan...bakit may mga pork barrel pa kay0?

Dapat ibigay nalang yan sa mga concerned agencies. Purely legislation lang ang trabaho nyo. Dapat sa bawat batas na ginagawa nyo ay kunukunsulta nyo ang inyong constituents, hindi puro project lang sa dpwh ang inaasakiso nyo...pano tayo magaasensyo kung ganyang klaseng mayroon pulitiko tayo...hindi na serbisyo sa taong bayan....lantarang corruption ang mga ginagawa ng mga yan.

When i was in Tacloban visiting and while i was in the city, i had the chance to pay for land taxes, requested by a family member, and for three years, i had the chance to visit old friends and former co-workers in City Hall, and one Accounting Clerk, got me to go inside their office, since, i had to wait for more paper works, that, while waiting, my eyes got into looking on cabinet walls, and i said to one worker, that, they need new cabinets, and the worker said, that, in their office, they will need to inform the Mayor's grant in their office request, and I said to the worker, why don't your office ask for help, if signing of the budget for office furniture, goes to the Office of the Mayor, and the worker said, the Mayor would only visit offices, when there's an important task that need to be done.

Wouldn't it be nice if all City Hall workers, can have the chance to smile and have a group conversation, just like before, before the National Anthem, Monday mornings, that, in that manner, City Hall workers can interact properly with the City Officials, or the Mayor, as in,in a friendly environment. Isn't that good that i had the chance to work in City Hall, and during that time, there was a good rapport in all inter-agencies government offices, i guess, the small gods were still watching me, and until this time, so, may the environment around, be much more better, than, when i came from Australia in 1998 to early part of year 2001, that i just noticed.

By the way, I was able to share to one worker of CHO in 1982, that there was an apparition of an old statue of the Santo Nino, that i saw, and it was made of old tiles of very light white green on its legs and robe, and in 1998 December 05, i was allowed to see three letters when the plane was nearing Tacloban's Domestic Airport, T E F and i was told that, T E F means, Time of Eternal Father.

Did you know, i had the chance to shake hands with the Mayor in year 1999? There was a ceremony at that time, and i just came from the City Assessor's Office, for an appointment; there was a priest who blessed the new garbage trucks with holy water. Before, there was nothing like that.

Anyway, i hope that the City of Tacloban will become more better and cleaner and safer to live (or visit). My visits (my stay) in 1998 to early year of 2001 to Tacloban, was more of a mission trip, that is, probably as to why, the letters T E F were shown, Time of Eternal Father, so, Tacloban, may you be blessed, with good projects for the city and nearby places, but don't include casinos. Any street cleaners like in the 60's, it will be a help to the twice a week garbage collector.

Ang Eastern Visayas Youth Council ay nakikiisa sa Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas at sa panawagan ng mga magsasaka para sa tunay na repormang agraryo.

Ang Silangang Bisayas ay isa sa mga may malalawak na lupang sakahan sa buong kapuluan. Kalakhan ng populasyon ng rehiyon ay mga magsasaka at karamihan sa kanila'y nabibilang sa nakabababang saray ng uring magsasaka.

Ang buong Silangang Bisayas, sa pangunguna ng Eastern Visayas Youth Council, ay nakikisimpatiya sa mga pamilya ng 13 martir na pinaslang sa Mendiola 21 taon na ang nakararaan. Ang rehiyon 8 ay nakaranas na rin ng di mabilang na pamamaslang sa hanay ng mga magsasaka. Isa sa mga pinakamararahas na pangyayari ay ang Palo Massacre sa Palo, Leyte noon Nobyembre 21, 2005 kung saan ay 9 katao ang pinatay at 5 ang malubhang nasugatan.

Sa kasalukuyan ang Isla ng Samar at gayundin ang Leyte ay nangnganib na lamunin ng mga kompanya ng pagmimina at pagtotroso. Ang mga naturang operasyon, lalo na ang pagmimina ay hindi lamang nakasisira sa kalikasan ito ay nakakaapekto din sa kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka. Kung saan aagawing pilit ng mga mining companies ang lupang sakahan upang gawing open pit at compound kung saan ipoproseso ang mga mineral na hahalukayin nila sa lupa. Isa sa mga halimbawa ay ang kawalan ng hanapbuhay ng ilang mga residente ng Bagacay, Hinabangan, Samar na dating mga magsasaka ginawang trabahador sa pagmimina ngunit ng matapos ang operasyon ay iniwang kumakalam ang sikmura. Ang lupang dati ay bumubuhay sa mga magsasaka ng naturang lugar ay di na kakitaan ng buhay. Kahit mga damo di na mabuhay sa lasong idinulot ng pagmimina.

Tahasang kinokondena ng Eastern Visayas Youth Council ang paglabag sa mga karapatang pantao hindi lamang ng mga kapatid nating mga magsasaka kundi sa buong sambayanang Pilipino. Acquiring a letter of recommendation from the Congressmen to avail discount from the hospitalization bill is like saying, hospital treatment of the less fortunate MUST WAIT otherwise no bills will be paid!

This is the most stupid condition on how to disburse PEOPLES MONEY. Hospitals and doctors should not deny anyone for an immediate treatment of the patients.

For me, this is nothing but a selective disbursal of funds which serves only those who are close enough to the tongressmen who can momentarily get their signatures.

On the other hand, our tongressmen are winning some pogi points.

I'm looking for Mr. Johnny Bobier in favor of his son Joesef Marry Bobier now Joseph Marie Villegas. In case Mr. Johnny Bobier is not here in the Philippines anymore or maybe he already passed away, any relative will do and will be of great help for his son. He gave his son to Belgian nuns when he was still a baby there in Northern Samar. He was brought in Manila and was adopted by the Villegas'.
